The Idealist
I have two separate spheres of experience in my life so far: the time I spent outside of serving God and the time I have spent choosing to serve Him. I have developed, as just everyone who has chosen to serve God, I would like to imagine, two contrasting worldviews. The first is cynical, selfish, and always looking for the negative way to describe something. The other is just the opposite. It is hopeful, selfless, expects the best, and always is looking for a way to love. The second worldview is rare in humanity, let alone in Andrew.
I want the second worldview to be my only worldview.
I want to expect everyone (especially myself) to do what they say, do what is best, and to love as if there is no tomorrow. I desperately want to see the kingdom of God established on Earth, and to see His love spread to every corner of the globe.
To get this change started, no longer is the title of my blog “friedriches.” Instead, it is “the idealist,” because we have the example- The Ideal- from which we are supposed to base our lives, and let shine through us. And that is what I want to follow. I don’t know where this journey is going to take me, but I can expect it to be quite the journey.
I know many out there are already on this journey. I am quite excited to be joining you now.
Since we are surrounded
By such a great cloud of witnesses
Let us run
Let us run with perseverance
The race marked out
Let us make a way
For those who are to come
Those who are to comeEvery generation
Every nation
Every tribe
Every tongue
They will sing
They will pray
With one voice they will sing
